I didn't start out thinking I'd spend my career helping business owners sleep better at night. But here I am, and now I can't imagine doing anything else.
Here's what I kept seeing: smart, capable business owners running great companies who were completely in the dark about their own finances. Not because they weren't trying, but because nobody had ever given them the right information in the right way. They had bookkeepers. They had accountants. They had reports they didn't fully understand sitting in folders they rarely opened. What they didn't have was someone who could sit across from them, look at the full picture, and say, here's exactly what's happening, here's why it matters, and here's what we do about it.
That's the gap I built Hayden CFO Advisory to fill.
Philosophy
The way I think about this work.
A thriving garden doesn't happen by accident. It requires the right soil, the right tools, the right timing, and someone who understands the long game well enough not to sacrifice next season's harvest for a quick win today.
That's how I approach every client engagement. What are the conditions your business needs to grow sustainably? Which roots are strong and which ones need attention? Where are you over-investing in the wrong areas, and where are you leaving growth on the table? And how do we build something that yields fruit now while staying healthy for the long haul?
I'm a big believer in timeless principles — doing things right, being honest even when it's uncomfortable, and treating your business like the vehicle it is for your life goals, not just a number on a spreadsheet. At the same time, I'm not stuck in the past. I think the future of financial advisory is more accessible, more transparent, and more useful than it's ever been, and that's exactly where I want to take this work.
A little more about me
Kombucha, sourdough, and living ecosystems.
When I'm not working through financial models, you'll find me in the kitchen fermenting something. My wife and I are into ecological food, which means our house usually has a batch of kombucha going, sourdough on the counter, or yogurt culturing on the shelf. I think there's something genuinely profound about a living ecosystem in a quart-sized jar, and if you let me get started on the parallels between a healthy microbiome and a healthy business, I'll be here a while.
I'm based out of Bel Aire, Kansas, and I work with business owners virtually across the country.
Who I work best with
Growth-stage business owners ready to stop being reactive about their finances. Something is working, revenue is coming in, maybe the team is growing — but the financial picture hasn't kept up with the pace of the business. They're losing sleep. They want answers. And they're ready to do something about it.
Who I'm not for
Business owners who aren't focused on growth, aren't open to change, or are looking for someone to just file reports and stay out of the way. That's okay. I'd rather be honest about that up front.
